Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment with Top National and State Rankings by India Today Survey of Best Colleges 2020 (various categories) organised a powerpoint competition on the topic ‘To explore the colourful world of plants’.The competition was organised by the Department of Botany. Students from B. Sc. Medical and M. Sc. Botanyparticipated in this competition with full zeal & enthusiasm. During the competition, students presented various topics covering different concepts of Botany as Cancer in plants by Agrobacteriumtumefacians, Economic importance of different plants, pigments in plants& modification in root, stem and leaves etc. The presentationsgave the knowledge about great diversity of plants and their importance in our daily life. Principal Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that this kind of competition enhances the knowledge of the students and also motivates them to explore the hidden and new concepts related to their subject. Madam Principal congratulated the students for participating in this competition. She lauded the efforts of Mrs Shikha Vashisht for successfully organising the event.
