Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) and KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized a workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene ‘ in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club. President of the organization, Ms. Resham Kaur and the member of the organization, Dr. Tarsem Lal were the eminent guest during this workshop. The workshop was conducted to make the girls aware of the hygienic conditions during their monthly cycle. Addressing the student, Ms. Resham Kaur said that menstruation is a normal and healthy part of life for women and girls but the lack of information leads to unhygienic and unhealthy menstrual practices and thus, creates misconceptions and negative attitudes. She stressed upon the importance of menstrual awareness and a positive attitude towards it&also distributed sanitary pads to the students. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that female hygiene is crucial to empower women. She further maintained that menstruation related social norms and taboos must be addressed through such initiatives. She encouraged the students to raise awareness on the topic to create a society that is more enlightened on women health. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Student Welfare&Head, PG Department of English), Ms. Veena Deepak (Co-ordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School), Ms. Anand Prabha (Incharge, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School) for taking such initiative.
