Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), as the sole Anveshika Centre of Punjab under the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), has successfully concluded the Punjab Chapter of the Anveshika Bharat Yatra, a nationwide initiative inspired by Padma Shri Prof. H. C. Verma. The nine-day Yatra, coordinated and led by KMV and Punjab Anveshika Coordinator, took the message of hands-on science and innovation to multiple institutions, empowering thousands of young learners. The high-energy event at Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur, where Dr. Neetu Verma and Dr. Surbhi Sharma from KMV engaged more than 250 students through interactive experiments, demonstrating physics concepts in simple and relatable ways. The ceremonial handover of the Electronic Mashaalto Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sharma symbolised the Yatra’s mission of spreading scientific knowledge and curiosity. At IISER Mohali, the program reached a new milestone with participation from leading scholars, including Prof. Satya Prakash, Prof. K.N. Pathak, Prof. M.P. Khanna, Prof. J.S. Bagla, and Dr. Tripta Bhatia. Alongside expert lectures, Dr. Neetu Verma conducted a live workshop, blending theory with engaging demonstrations to inspire innovation and practical understanding. Continuing to SSM College, Dinanagar and Khalsa College, Amritsar, KMV faculty Dr. Sangeeta Prashar and Dr. Harleen Singh led hands-on workshops covering wave motion, Bernoulli’s principle, magnetism, optics, and electricity — enabling students to experience physics concepts first-hand. The concluding day at MRPD Government College, Talwara featured a Mashaal March, low-cost live demonstrations, and two innovative quiz sessions- General Science and the LEPTON Experimental Physics Quiz organised by KMV faculty Dr. Sonik Bhatia and Dr. Harleen Singh, engaging over 170 students. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that by anchoring every stage of the Yatra, KMV demonstrated its leadership in nurturing scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and experiential learning across Punjab. She further maintained that this initiative strengthened KMV’s role as a hub of innovation and inquiry-based education, inspiring the next generation of scientists and innovators.
