KMVites gain valuable tips on CPR procedure during a Workshop

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous ) organized a highly informative workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. The workshop was organized by the Department of Student Welfare, Red Cross Society, Red Ribbon Club, and Eco-Club of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya. The event was inaugurated by Ms. Amaninder Kaur Brar, ADC, Jalandhar, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Dr. Surjit Lal, marking an inspiring beginning to an impactful awareness session. The workshop aimed to empower students with essential knowledge and hands-on training to handle medical emergencies efficiently. Dr. Ruchi and Dr. Ridhima from Unity Critical Care Multi-Speciality Hospital and Trauma Centre, Partap Bagh, Jalandhar conducted the session with great expertise. They apprised students of various aspects of first aid, explaining the significance of immediate medical response in critical situations. The resource persons demonstrated the correct techniques for measuring and managing blood pressure and performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) -a vital life-saving skill used during cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. They also elaborated on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of electric shock, along with practical demonstrations on how to respond safely and effectively in such emergencies. Throughout the session, students actively participated and interacted with the experts, gaining practical insights into real-life emergency scenarios. The workshop emphasized the importance of awareness, preparedness, and presence of mind in saving lives before professional medical help arrives. Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the collaborative efforts of the organizing departments and commended the trainers for sharing valuable, life-saving information. She highlighted that such training sessions not only enhance students’ knowledge but also cultivate social responsibility and compassion -values central to holistic education at KMV. The event concluded on a positive note, leaving participants more confident and better equipped to handle health emergencies with promptness and care.
