Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in order to make KMV students globally employable, KMV runs Job Readiness Course in association with Industry Professionals. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi introduced the relevance of Job Readiness Program in today’s competitive world and encouraged the students to learn minutely from the experts as this training program is designed to make KMV students globally employable. She emphasized that KMV runs Job Readiness Course in association with Industry Professionals along with college faculty wherein the students of Semester Fifth of Professional Programs like – BCA, BSc(IT), BBA, B.Com, BSc(Biotech), MSc FYIP (Maths), MAFYIP (Eng) are trained on various modules ranging from Resume Building to Mock Interviews. The objective of this Value-Added Course is to enhance students’ professional communication skills and job readiness. Dr. Suman Khurana, Dean, Placement Cell gave a clear picture on the various Modules and the objective behind this course. She steered the program with sessions on Resume Building/Cover Letter and Positive Attitude, where she made the students understand the two important documents – Resume and Cover Letter. In the second Session, she highlighted on keeping Positive Attitude along with hard work, discipline, optimism as all these contribute towards a positive attitude by taking practical examples through interesting videos and clippings. In the third Session, Dr. Suman Khurana explained the organisational structure of the corporate houses and the fourth session was dedicated to Business Jargons that Dr. Khurana complemented with interesting examples and with responses to questions. All the four sessions were highly interactive wherein students raised their queries which were excellently answered by Dr. Suman Khurana. Fifth Session of the Program was taken by Mrs. Anukiran Khanna – Assistant Professor in Department of English on E-mail Etiquette and Telephonic Interview. Participants were instructed on how to structure professional e-mails, the importance of clear subject lines, formal tone, and common mistakes to avoid. The session also provided guidance on how to effectively handle telephonic interviews emphasizing active listening, clear communication, and maintaining confidence. The session was interactive, with practical examples and real-time corrections by the expert. Sixth Session was taken by Dr. Natasha Sharma – Assistant Professor from PG Department of Mathematics. Her Session was on Effective Presentation Skills. She elaborated the Four P’s of effective presentation – Plan, Prepare, Practice and Present where Planning means audience and objective. Preparation involves Style, visual aids, voice and appearance. The Resource Person for the seventh session was Dr Sabina Batra – Associate Professor- Dept. of Commerce and Business Administration. She guided the students on the procedure to be followed to access various Online Job Portals like indeed, Sarkari Naukri.com, Free Job Alert.com, Axis Bank and Monsterindia.com. She reiterated the fact that there is no scarcity of jobs in India if the students are willing and have requisite skills and qualification for the aspired jobs. The eighth session was conducted by Dr. Rashmi Bindra -Assistant Professor – PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration to apprise the students on interview skills. She talked on various aspects of interview process and questions normally asked in the interviews. Students were explained the importance of searching the organization and its work culture before appearing for an interview. She gave deep insights of mistakes which candidates make while attending interviews and explained about overcoming those mistakes. Students were also explained regarding the dress code and body language through videos. The Resource Person for the ninth session was Dr. Jeeta Sarkar, a distinguished authority in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour at JIM Noida. The session was designed to familiarize final-year students with the power of LinkedIn for career advancement and demonstrate how AI can be leveraged to optimize professional profiles. Dr. Sarkar explained the difference between casual users, who create profiles with little activity, and power users, who fully utilize LinkedIn as a personal branding tool through groups, applications, references, and professional engagement. She emphasized that LinkedIn, with over one billion global users and adoption by 90% of recruiters, is more than just a networking site—it is a gateway to jobs, internships, and personal branding. The Session was highly interactive with lots of queries and quizzes which were answered by students, best Mock Profiles were awarded by the experts and the best three quiz winners were given Amazon Vouchers of Rs. 2000/- each. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the efforts of Dr. Suman Khurana and her team for wonderfully organizing this Specialized Value-Added Program complementing that the program successfully equipped students with the confidence, skills, and readiness required to face interviews and group discussions, fulfilling the objectives of the Job Readiness Program and ensuring students are well-prepared for future career opportunities.
